The two sides will face off in the Carabao Cup final in two and a half weeks time, but they will first meet in the Premier League at Anfield.
Fresh from their impressive win away at Manchester City, Arne Slot’s side will hope they can continue on the winning trail and possibly further extend their lead over Arsenal.
Newcastle meanwhile also enjoyed a great result last weekend, defeating high-flying Nottingham Forest in a frantic 4-3 victory.
Having played out an entertaining 3-3 draw in the reverse fixture, Slot already knows Newcastle’s ‘threat’ and the Dutchman will no doubt recognise the challenge the Magpies will bring.
Cody Gakpo could return to Liverpool starting XI
Mohamed Salah’s record-breaking form regularly takes the headlines, but he hasn’t been the only Reds forward on fire this season – with Cody Gakpo also lighting up Anfield.
Having bagged 21 goal contributions so far, the Dutchman has been Liverpool’s main attacking outlet behind Salah this campaign.
The 25-year-old was also recently highlighted for his impressive displays, with Gakpo winning the POTM award for January.

The Liverpool forward’s season however has endured a slight blip in recent weeks, with Gakpo picking up an injury versus Everton – a knock that has seen him miss games against Wolves and Aston Villa.
Gakpo though did recently feature as a late substitute in the Man City win last weekend, suggesting he may be in line for a start against Newcastle midweek.
With that being said, the Reds squad will no doubt hope the Dutchman is back up and firing, with Kostas Tsimiakas recently labelling Gakpo as ‘special’.
Liverpool predicted XI vs Newcastle
Liverpool played without a striker against Manchester City, with both Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones almost acting as second strikers from midfield.
It would however be a surprise to see Slot continue with this system, with Gakpo and Diogo Jota waiting in the wings for a start.

Despite Alexis Mac Allister picking up a black eye at the Etihad, the Argentine will likely remain in the Reds midfield.
