The Gunners are in good form in the Premier League, having seen off Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester City and Leicester City in their last three games.
Arsenal will be up against a West Ham side desperate to end a poor run of games and drag themselves further away from the Premier League’s bottom three.
Arsenal are currently short of options up front, with just Leandro Trossard, Raheem Sterling and Ethan Nwaneri fit at present.
As a result, Mikel Arteta has called up some academy forwards to training, including a player who has been inspired by Liverpool legend Sadio Mane.
Louis Zecevic-John spotted in Arsenal training ahead of West Ham clash
The player in question is Louis Zecevic-John, who was photographed in Arsenal training chasing a ball while William Saliba gives chase.
Zecevic-John is a 17-year-old attacking talent who largely plays on the right wing but has featured in a variety of positions this season.
The Serbia youth international has played at centre-forward, on the right side of midfield, and even at full-back for Arsenal’s Under-18s this term.
Arsenal youth team expert Jeorge Bird has described him as a skilful youngster whose “pace makes him a real threat”.
Daniel Oyetunde, Andre Harriman-Annous, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Teshaun Murisa, Cam’ron Ismail, Louie Copley, Brando Bailey-Joseph and Alexei Rojas also trained with the Arsenal first-team.
How Louis Zecevic-John was inspired by Sadio Mane
Zecevic-John told the Arsenal media team last August: “My dad has always been a football fan and got me into the sport when I was just four years old.
“Growing up, I was inspired by Sadio Mane. My dad is a big Liverpool fan, and I loved Mane’s game, finishing, and work rate.”
While Mane is the player who made Zecevic-John fall in love with football, Thierry Henry is his favourite Arsenal player of all time.
