Report: Arne Slot is changing his mind on Liverpool's £16m player who is becoming a 'leader' at Anfield

One of Liverpool’s fringe players was being tipped to leave Anfield in the summer, however, he is starting to have a growing influence on Arne Slot’s squad.

With so many matches still left to play, Arne Slot will need to make sure he utilises his squad and this player could quickly become an important option.

The Dutch manager is hoping his team can pull off a historic season as they continue to go strong in both the Premier League and Champions League this term.

The Reds may have the chance to take their foot off the gas somewhat in the league given they are 13 points clear with Slot able to use some of his squad players.

Arne Slot is becoming less likely to sell Wataru Endo from Liverpool
Wataru Endo is becoming less certain to leave Liverpool in the summer due to his growing influence in the dressing room, according to the Daily Mail.

The Japanese international was tipped to leave but he is now starting to grow into somewhat of a cult hero at Anfield.

Slot is understood to be a big fan of the £16m player’s attitude and leadership in the dressing room which could transform him into an important squad player for the Reds.

Endo has already been bigged up by Slot with the Liverpool boss tipping him to be a crucial player for them in the final stages of the season.

What Arne Slot said about Wataru Endo vs Newcastle United
Slot praised the attitude Endo has been showing in Liverpool training and how he always gives his best despite his limited minutes.

The 28-year-old played just 13 minutes but he worked incredibly hard to ensure the Reds got over the line to secure a vital three points.

Speaking after the win over Newcastle, Slot told Liverpool.com: “I appreciate him a lot as a football player but also as a human being.

“No matter how many minutes the team needs him [for], he always shows up. The reason why he always shows up – and that is what makes him special.”
