The Gunners have seen their Premier League title hopes dwindle away in recent weeks and, as such, new signings are a must in the summer.
Attacking reinforcements will probably be on the cards at Arsenal, in particular at centre-forward, and there could also be the need for midfielders.
Now, a report has emerged claiming Arsenal have set their sights on a defender, specifically a Premier League full-back said to have “bags of tricks”.
Arsenal eyeing Wolves star Rayan Ait-Nouri
The player in question is Wolverhampton Wanderers star Rayan Ait-Nouri, who has been a regular for his side this term.
Arsenal have a long-standing interest in Ait-Nouri which is still the case ahead of the summer transfer window, according to CaughtOffside.
As well as Arsenal, AC Milan are said to be keen on Ait-Nouri in case Real Madrid-linked Theo Hernandez leaves this summer.
The Wolves left-back could reportedly be available for around €60million (£50million) this summer.
With Premier League clubs boasting more financial muscle than Serie A sides, ‘that might mean Ait-Nouri ends up at Arsenal’, added the report.
What Rayan Ait-Nouri could bring to Arsenal
Admittedly, Arsenal are pretty well stocked at left-back, even if Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko leave.
The Gunners would still have Riccardo Calafiori, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Jurrien Timber, Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu who can play there.
However, Ait-Nouri is versatile enough to be able to play as a left-winger, a right-winger, and even as a No. 10 or a centre-back.
Indeed, the 23-year-old has been great in attack, so Arteta may well consider him further up the pitch.
Former Wolves captain Conor Coady has spoken highly of Ait-Nouri, saying in 2020: “He’s sharp, really sharp. He turns you inside out and has bags of tricks.
“He’s a young boy coming from a different country, he’s a fantastic person and is brilliant to have around the place.”
