TRANSFER CONFIRMED:Arsenal can still do four transfer deals today despite window closing

The transfer window has closed and Premier League clubs can no longer do business with each other or the majority of the world, but Arsenal can still conclude a few more deals.

The Gunners opted against majorly improving Mikel Arteta’s squad, they did not make a single signing mid-season, after Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino, David Raya, Raheem Sterling and Neto arrived in the summer.
Both Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher pleaded with them to bring in another striker, following injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, in order to compete with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.

But Arsenal have kept faith with their current crop of players, even though more business can still be done. Here, Express Sport looks at what moves may take place after the winter window closes…

Transfer windows are still open in Turkey (Feb 11), Portugal (Feb 4), MLS (April 23) and Australia (Feb 12) among other leagues across the globe.

And Kieran Tierney has agreed a deal to return to Celtic in the summer, ending a miserable few years in north London.

But there is nothing stopping the Scotland international leaving on loan for a few months to get up to match fitness.

He has made a few sparse appearances this season, but Arsenal have a glut of left-backs and the 27-year-old will want to be up to speed when he heads home to Celtic Park next season.

None of Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko or Ollie Watkins headed to the Emirates this winter, but that does not mean that a striker cannot arrive at all.

Former Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Wolves striker Diego Costa is a free agent, meaning that Arsenal can sign him at any point throughout the season.

He was most recently playing in Brazil for Botofogo and Gremio and his greatest days are in the past, but Gunners fans will remember the presence he brings, the 37-year-old is a dangerous and powerful threat.

Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko exits

With Myles Lewis-Skelly emerging as a Premier League left-back, coupled with Ricciardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber’s ability to play on that side of the back four, Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko’s days appear numbered.

Neither player left during the English window but could still depart to Turkey, Portugal, MLS or Australia.

Kiwior especially was of interest to several Serie A sides earlier in the window, but a move failed to materialise.

Both Kiwior and Zinchenko likely would not be short of offers if they are available, even though Arsenal would struggle to find any immediate replacements.
