The Gunners had a great chance to make up some ground on Liverpool but after a disappointing game against West Ham United, the challenge for the Premier League appears done. And against a team that is the surprise package of the season, this going to be a very difficult game.
David Raya will have to deal with the threat of Chris Wood that has proven to be tough for almost all defences in the league. As for the full backs, Ben White should come into the starting lineup giving Jurrien Timber a rest. And along with the Englishman, it will be Riccardo Calafiori.
William Saliba and Gabriel start as the centre backs and the physical threat of Forest will prove to be quite an obstacle for the visitors. If they can ensure that the threat from set pieces is negated, it will give Arteta a chance to hope for three points.
In midfield, given overall physicality of the hosts, it is likely that the manager would want to persist with the trio of Declan Rice, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard. These three, especially the captain has to step up and take the game by the scruff of the neck.
In attack, despite the limited options that the north Londoners have, there is bound to be some kind of rotation. Ethan Nwaneri was limping towards the end of the game against the Hammers and even if fit, it is possible that the teenager will be on the bench.
This should see Raheem Sterling start on the right wing, with Mikel Merino and Leandro Trossard as the other forwards. The Spaniard in particular has to get himself more involved in the game as he has taken on the goal scoring burden. If the wingers are able to chip in, it will give the Gunners a platform from which they can hope to win.
Arsenal are still not mathematically out of the title race but for all intents and purposes, it is done. Despite that, it is imperative that the team looks to get as many points as possible. And though Forest will provide a formidable challenge, this squad is capable of getting a positive result.
