The attacking options at Arne Slot’s disposal will be the envy of the vast majority of managers in the world, with elite players everywhere you look.
In Mohamed Salah, Liverpool have one of the best players in world football currently, while Cody Gakpo is enjoying an increasingly superb season, shining in his preferred left-sided role.
Luis Diaz has shone in a new central berth at times in 2024/25, and Diogo Jota is a brilliant option, with injuries the one negative working against him.
Even the much-maligned Darwin Nunez has contributed at times recently, and Federico Chiesa will hopefully have a bigger impact in the second half of the campaign, having struggled for minutes to date.
According to a shock update from Anfield Watch, however, a host of exits could happen this summer, with Nunez among those who may move on. The report says that “there seems to be an acceptance that it is the right time to sever ties.”
Meanwhile, Diaz could be sold, too with Slot becoming “frustrated with the Colombian as the season has progressed”, and there is even “doubt” over Jota’s future at Anfield.
Who should Liverpool sell this summer?
Selling all three of Nunez, Diaz and Jota would certainly come as a shock at Liverpool at the end of the campaign, and it would only make sense if superb alternatives are being lined up.
Allowing the former to leave is the right decision, however, with the Uruguayan a popular figure with supporters, but too often flattering to deceive with his finishing and all-round game.
Diaz has had a good season, but at 28 years of age, doubts do persist about whether he will ever become a truly world-class player, and there could be more clinical options out there.
