Arsenal now willing to sign 22-year-old star with 27 G/A, £67m deal could be agreed

Arsenal are interested in signing one of Bundesliga’s leading strikers this summer.

The Gunners are poised to recruit a marquee centre-forward, considering their inconsistency upfront in the Premier League.

Arsenal netted 91 goals in 38 league games last season, but they have managed just 53 goals this term, with nine matches remaining.

Injuries to Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz have played a part, but the club still need a more reliable striker.

Sky Sport Germany claim that Arsenal are one of the top Premier League clubs interested in signing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 22-year-old has had a fantastic campaign with the Bundesliga outfit, scoring 19 goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.

His progress has also caught the eye of Liverpool and Manchester United.

Frankfurt are aware of the growing interest. Ekitike is 99 percent likely to leave the club, but they are expected to hold out for £67 million.

Ekitike could be Arsenal’s alternative to Alexander Isak
Havertz had a good season prior to his injury, with 15 goals in all competitions. However, the German was guilty of squandering several clear-cut chances.

With the opportunities that Arsenal create with Saka and Martin Odegaard, an elite striker should be able to hit the 30-goal mark per season, in our opinion.

Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak has been exceptional this campaign, scoring 23 goals in all competitions. Just three of those have come from the penalty spot.

Isak is reportedly the club’s number one forward target but a deal could be difficult to negotiate if the Magpies qualify for the Champions League next term.

The Swede has another three years left on his contract. Eddie Howe’s side would be in a strong position to keep him in case they return to Europe’s elite competition.

Arsenal are probably making a contingency plan as a result. They have been linked with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, but we believe Ekitike would be a better fit.

The France international has a better passing accuracy of 79 percent compared to Sesko’s 64. He has managed six more goal involvements than the 21-year-old.

Both strikers are very mobile and like to high-press their opponents, but Ekitike would be a better acquisition as an all-round package than the Slovenian ace.
