With the Blues having more on the line in the league, still chasing a top-four finish, the Gunners need to find a way out of the rut of poor form that has seen them winless in their last three league games. Chelsea have a rancid record Mikel Arteta’s side of late, and at the Emirates Stadium, but there is plenty of motivation on their side.
Arteta does welcome back Gabriel Martinelli for what could potentially be his first start. While he was able to rest a number of key stars for the midweek game with PSV; here is what football.london is expecting from the boss this weekend in terms of selection.
David Raya
The Arsenal goalkeeper was called upon in many big moments at Manchester United last weekend, he will hope for a quieter afternoon on Sunday but will have the job of keeping out Cole Palmer. (Image: Getty Images) 1 of 11
Jurrien Timber
The Dutch international is going to make it incredibly difficult for Ben White to make his way back into the right-back slot. Even his small cameo in midweek against PSV was mightily impressive. (Image: Photo by Rob Newell - CameraSport via Getty Images) 2 of 11
William Saliba
Gabriel Magalhaes
These absences will equally benefit Gabriel Magalhaes, who has a good record himself against the Blues. He celebrated his sliding tackle on Wednesday like a goal, preventing a PSV strike on target. He will be firmly up for this latest London derby.
