Arsenal suffer fresh Alexander Isak 'blow' as PSG transfer plan emerges

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly eyeing a move for Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak - with the Ligue 1 said to be willing to offer three players in exchange. Isak has established himself as one of the deadliest strikers in the Premier League since signing for the Magpies from Real Sociedad in August 2022. In total, the Swede has scored 57 goals in 98 appearances for the club.
In recent months, such form has seen him touted with a move away from St James' Park, with Arsenal and Liverpool heavily linked with a move for the forward. However, RMC Sport claim that PSG have set their sights on signing Isak this summer and are ready to offer three players in exchange for the former Borussia Dortmund forward.

The French publication claims that PSG are preparing to offer Marco Asensio, Randal Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos in a bid to sign the Swede. In October, Eddie Howe described contract talks with Isak as a "complex situation" as the club worked to adhere to the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules.

"That's a slightly more complex situation," said Howe at the time. "Regarding contracts, I'm not involved in those discussions day to day. With Alex, he's got a long contract anyway at the football club and we have to be really careful with our spending due to profit and sustainability rules (PSR). It's not a clear-cut situation."

Isak has scored the third-highest number of goals in the Premier League this season, behind Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland. The forward is under contract at Newcastle until 2028.
