Arsenal are expected to make a splash in the summer transfer window as they aim to close the gap to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side have beaten the Gunners to the title in the last two seasons and the Reds are on course to win it this time around.
Mikel Arteta’s side have received a lot of criticism for not signing a striker this season, something that they are expected to do in the summer.
They made a bid for Ollie Watkins in January, but it was rejected by Aston Villa. They had also been heavily linked to signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, but reports have suggested a Premier League alternative in recent weeks.
This is what the Arsenal starting XI could look like next season if the current transfer rumours are true.
Arsenal land La Liga defender
Goalkeeper: David Raya
Defenders: Myles Lewis-Skelly, Gabriel, William Saliba, Jules Kounde
Arsenal will be looking to add a backup keeper as Neto’s loan deal at the club will expire at the end of the season. However, Raya will remain the first choice for Arteta. 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly earned his first England call-up under Thomas Tuchel this weekend, and so he is expected to just get better and better.
With Saliba and Gabriel, Arsenal have one of the best centre-back partnerships in world football. They haven’t been linked to many defenders, but reports have suggested that they could sign a right-back.
