The Gunners had a night to remember as they won 7-1 against PSV which more or less seals their place in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. That will give the team a huge boost of confidence ahead of such an important game.
David Raya who is looking to add another Golden Glove to his name will be looking to keep a clean sheet against the Red Devils. With Myles Lewis-Skelly back following a suspension it is highly likely that the youngster will be paired with Jurrien Timber.
In the centre of defence, William Saliba and Gabriel will continue to marshal the back line and look to keep the hosts at bay. Though United haven’t been at their best in terms of attacking play, they do possess an element of danger.
In midfielder, Arteta is quite likely to persist with the trio of Thomas Partey, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard in the midfield. These three have the talent and tenacity to get the better of Ruben Amorim’s men.
The captain in particular will be looking to show the level of talent that he possesses. After getting two goals and an assist against PSV, the Norway international looks to be back to his old self and that is great news for the visitors.
In attack, the manager would prefer to have some continuity hence the wingers will be Ethan Nwaneri and Leandro Trossard. The former has come on leaps and bounds and is showing no signs of being a fresh-faced 17-year-old.
Mikel Merino will start as the central forward and his movement and rotation with the other two attackers makes the attack a lot more fluid. And his aerial ability will also come in handy as the United defence is quite physical.
Arsenal do not have much hope to win the league title but they still need to get as many wins as possible to ensure their place in the top 4. And with United having already shown that they have what it takes to stifle the north Londoners, it will not be an easy game to win.
