While Arsenal impressed at the Philips Stadion last week, they struggled against Manchester United, but the north Londoners will be determined to return to winning ways after they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Bruno Fernandes gave Ruben Amorim's team the lead with a brilliant free-kick, before Rice levelled up proceedings in the final a quarter of an hour. Meanwhile, after three successive defeats - across all competitions - PSV enjoyed a 2-1 victory against SC Heerenveen.
Nevertheless, ahead of the tie, Rice has uploaded a training photo to his Instagram story. Suggesting he could remain in the starting line-up, the England international wrote: "Second leg ready [shooting star emoji]."
Speaking with reporters at the Sobha Realty Training Centre on Tuesday, Arteta was asked if he'll rotate his side given the substantial lead. Keeping his cards close to his chest, the Arsenal boss suggested that he may not make as many changes as many believe.
Arteta said: "It's unique but it's also understanding how the game was played a week ago and the fact everything went in the right direction for us from the beginning. We're going to have to earn the right tomorrow to go in the same direction, so we're fully focused on that."
On if the Champions League is the Gunners' final shot at silverware this season, he said: "It's a competition that we have put in a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of energy. We're very consistent and winning tomorrow puts us in a very good position."
Arteta added: "It's the demands that we put on every competition that we play. It's not adding pressure, it's the reality of where we are and what we want to deliver and we are very much conscious that the demands for this football club are to reach the highest level and win those competitions."
Then, on not bringing Raheem Sterling on against United and whether he'll start against PSV, Arteta said: "It's the same with the rest of the players. At the end, we make decisions on the day which player we believe fits better in the manner that the game is developing.
"He's come on in many of the games and didn't the other day, so that's it. I will decide that (if he starts) tomorrow with him and with the rest of them."
