Exclusive: Arsenal send scouts to Italy to watch £70m striker and he scored right in front of them

TBR Football can reveal that Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have been keeping tabs on Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram.

All three Premier League clubs are set to be in the market this summer for at least one new forward each and they have all been following the progress of the Frenchman.

Thuram had major interest from England before he joined Inter on a free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach back in the summer of 2023.

But two years on and the French international could finally be set to make the switch to the English top flight with three of the Premier League’s top six all scouting him.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea scouts watch Marcus Thuram score vs Feyenoord
Sources have confirmed to Graeme Bailey – chief correspondent at TBR Football that Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have all watched Marcus Thuram in the last month, including against Feyenoord in the Champions League where he scored.

The Frenchman’s goal against the Dutch side took his tally to 15 for the season, which has helped fire Simone Inzaghi’s side to the top of Serie A and into the Round of 16 in the Champions League.

The 27-year-old has become one of Europe’s top strikers with Arsene Wenger even comparing Thuram to Thierry Henry.

Unai Emery wanted to bring Thuram to Arsenal in 2019 during his time at Guingamp, however, the move never materialised.

The 2022 World Cup finalist currently has a release clause of just over £70 million in his contract which runs to 2028, however, Inter are ready to open talks over a new deal that could see his clause removed or increased.

Why Marcus Thuram could be the perfect signing for Mikel Arteta
Thuram has been a roaring success in Milan having mainly operated as a striker, but throughout his career he has shown he can also play out wide.

The Serie A star’s versatility could make him the perfect option for Mikel Arteta’s squad, who are in the market for both a left winger and a striker.
