Liverpool ‘ready’ to make landmark £50m forward bid as Man City eye Nottingham Forest star

It’s time for us to do our daily duty and round up all of the freshest Premier League transfer rumours for you – and having combed the global media for some suitably interesting stories, we’re going to start with a story which should be of interest to Liverpool supporters.

This one comes from Caught Offside, who claim that Arne Slot’s side are “ready to try bidding” for Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, a Turkish prodigy who has been linked with the Reds a few times over the past handful of months – but now we have a potential price tag.

The reports suggests that Liverpool will start the bidding at “around €60m (£50m)” after sending scouts to watch the 19-year-old in action. That may not be enough, however, with claims in the Italian media hinting that Juve would want something closer to €100m (£84m) to sell one of the brightest prospects.

The 3AM Verdict: We suspect £50m is closer to a fair valuation than £84m, but inflation is hitting the transfer market so hard that we wouldn’t be surprised if the fee spiralled higher. That could be pushed up by further interest from other clubs, too, with the article hinting that other teams are keeping tabs without naming names.

Man City & Liverpool line up Forest star
It looks as though Nottingham Forest’s impressive progress towards the top four means that some of their best players will be in demand this summer, if this story from TBR Football is true – they claim that both Liverpool and Manchester City are “keeping a close eye” on right-back Ola Aina.

The Nigerian defender will only have one year left on his contract come the summer, and could offer a cheaper alternative to Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, another player on both club’s lists, apparently.

In Liverpool’s case, it sounds as though they will only make a move if they do indeed lose Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer this summer – but Forest are supposedly “confident” of keeping Aina around as they work to die him down to a new long-term deal.

The 3AM Verdict: There’s no details on the finances here, which would really make or break this story – there’s only so much clubs will pay for the 28-year-old when there are younger and flashier alternatives, especially when his contract is running down. We wouldn’t be surprised if he pens a new contract and stays put at the City Ground, anyway.

Forest, Bournemouth & Brentford scout rising Norwegian star
Just because Forest could lose their right-back doesn’t mean they aren’t trying to sign a new left-back anyway – they’re one of three Premier League who are “set to watch” 22-year-old Norwegian defender David Møller Wolfe when his club AZ Alkmaar take on Tottenham Hotspur tonight, according to Football Insider.

Wolfe’s performances have “attracted interest” from right across the continent, it seems, but Forest, Bournemouth and Brentford are the teams from this side of the Channel who are keen on the youngster. Bournemouth will be interested if they lose Milos Kerkez this summer, while the other two teams’ bids may be less conditional.

The 3AM Verdict: By the time you read this, the scouts will have turned in their reports – Wolfe has been highly impressive this season, so it will be interesting to see who bids and how much. No word on the finances yet, not least because it’s early in the process and clubs are just evaluating him for now.
