‘Prepare for disappointment’ Journalist shares Arsenal transfer update that fans won’t like

The title race is over according to some, and all Arsenal can do at this point is plan for the summer and make sure they sign the right players in order to win the league next year.
Of course, there are no prizes for guessing what Arsenal’s summer transfer priority is.

Indeed, Arsenal need a striker, and there are a few players on Arsenal’s radar.

Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s dream target, but according to Charles Watts, speaking on Inside Arsenal, this deal is very unlikely.

Alexander Isak to Arsenal unlikely to happen
Watts shared what he knows about Isak and Arsenal.

The journalist says that Arsenal fans should prepare for disappointment on this front, claiming that he can’t see any way in which Arsenal actually sign Isak.

“I just say I would prepare yourself for disappointment. I want Alexander Isak as much as any single Arsenal fan on this planet this summer. But if you’re seriously going into this summer window expecting Arsenal to sign Alexander Isak, I would prepare for disappointment there,” Watts said.

“You’re talking so much money that I just don’t see a way that Arsenal do that. I hope I’m wrong. I hope they absolutely surprise me.

“I hope they somehow manage to put a bid together that Newcastle would entertain. But I just can’t see it. I really, I don’t think he goes anywhere this summer.

“I do not think Newcastle will sell Isak to Arsenal or to anyone unless you put something like 200 million pounds on the table and no one’s going to do that this summer. So honestly, I’d prepare yourself for disappointment if you’re really thinking that Isak is attainable this summer. I just don’t think he is.”

Who Arsenal could sign instead of Alexander Isak
Arsenal seemingly face an uphill battle if they want to sign Isak this summer, but, luckily, there could be other exciting options coming in.

Indeed, while Isak isn’t likely to head to Arsenal, the Gunners could end up signing two very exciting options.

Arsenal bid for Ollie Watkins in January, and the Gunners are said to still be keen on Watkins.

Arsenal want Watkins and Benjamin Sesko in the summer transfer window, according to Steve Kay.

“Yeah, with Ollie Watkins. I had a conversation today with the main man, and Arsenal aren’t going away from Ollie Watkins,” Kay said.

“Because of the injury to Gabriel Jesus, he may not be expected back until possibly into 2026, maybe November, late, late. I’ve been told that Ollie Watkins is still on the agenda because they need two strikers.

“That £40m will stay on the table and if Watkins is happy to come, he will come. I’ve also been told this will not affect going in for a main striker like a Sesko. It won’t be any more than £40m. £40m is the only number I know of, it may be a bit lower than that because it’s another year.”

Of course, as the stats show, Isak is better than both of those players at the moment, but Watkins and Sesko aren’t bad consolation prizes.

League stats this season
Arsenal may not be signing Sesko this summer, but it could still be an exciting transfer window for the north London club.
