‘Really wants to sign’: ‘Special’ player is very keen to sign for Arsenal this summer – journalist

Arsenal may want to turn their attentions towards the summer transfer window as soon as possible.

Indeed, January was a disaster for Arsenal after they didn’t sign a striker, and with Kai Havertz out for the season, the Gunners’ title chances have taken a massive hit.

The title race is over according to some, and the gap to Liverpool does look insurmountable.

Arsenal need to be busy this summer, and, luckily, they do have some transfer plans up their sleeve.

Arsenal want a new striker. Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s dream target, and he’s not the only Scandinavian talent the Gunners are looking at.

Arsenal were linked with Sverre Nypan in January, and according to Steve Kay, speaking on KS1 TV, the young midfielder really wants to join Arsenal.

Sverre Nypan wants to join Arsenal
Kay shared what he knows about Nypan and Arsenal.

According to the journalist, the youngster is very keen to join the Gunners, and he’s also heard that this is an elite young player with world-class potential.

“My understanding, talking to people really close to the deal, people closer than I will ever be, he really wants to sign for Arsenal, they’re his first choice. Yeah, for a few reasons,” Kay said.

“He’s spoken to Martin Odegaard on a few occasions, he’s impressed with Mikel Arteta and he thinks that Arsenal are the best club for him to continue his development.

“Yeah, apparently this kid could be anything, speaking to people, he is elite, he is an elite youngster, some well-known top journalists who I trust greatly who I’ve spoken to say he has the potential to be world-class.”

“He’s special, and Arsenal are favourites to get him, so yeah, whatever fee it will be, it will be a record fee for Rosenberg.”

“They say about his development, but people I’ve spoken to, they say that he’s ready.”

Sverre Nypan stats last season
Kay says that he’s heard Nypan is ready to make a first-team impact at Arsenal, and his stats do suggest that he’s a top player in the making.

Indeed, Nypan has had an incredible season with Rosenberg over in Norway.

The Norwegian season finished in December, but Nypan’s stats from that campaign speak for themselves.

Sverre Nypan stats this season
Games 28
Goals 8
Assists 7
15 goal contributions in 28 games from central midfield is an incredible return at any level, let alone from an 18-year-old.

Arsenal have a number of talented youngsters coming through right now such as Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Nypan could be the next teenager to potentially become a star at the Emirates.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as we head into the summer.
