One of the areas where Liverpool are planning the biggest overhauls in is the attack. Arne Slot is clearly not happy with his current options after a disappointing week saw the Reds lose to Paris Saint Germain and Newcastle.

Anfield Watch exclusively revealed almost two months ago now that Liverpool will be putting up the trio of Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz up for sale.

Now the former already has a suitor and that suitor opens up the possibility of Hughes pursuing a sensational swap deal for the Reds.

Diogo Jota opens the door to sensational swap deal
Out of three over the course of his career, Jota has definitely been the most reliable in front of goal - although recently even that cannot be said having squandered a lot of opportunities.

But where Jota's issues have always lied is availability. He continues to pick up knocks that sideline him for weeks and disrupt his rhythm.

His injury proneness means he's just simply not an ideal fit for this team long-term. Especially, not when he's already 28 years old.

Liverpool need someone younger and more available and that is what they could get if they pursued a swap deal with a Premier League side who are keen on signing Jota.

According to TEAMtalk, Wolverhampton are open to bringing Jota back to the club and are keeping a close eye on his situation.

This will be music to Hughes' ears because Wolves' star forward Matheus Cunha has been linked with a move to Anfield and Wolves' interest in Jota practically gives a green light for Liverpool to complete a sensational swap deal.

It would see Jota joining Wolves and going back to his familiar surroundings meanwhile Liverpool would bring in Cunha, who has been one of the most prolific forwards in the Premier League this season.

Not to mention he is both a goal-scorer and a facilitator and his style of play is tailor made for Arne Slot's own style.

It would be a match made in heaven and a no brainer of a decision for Hughes, which is why this is a deal worth keeping a close eye on.
