Ruben Amorim has revealed that a staggering 16 players could miss the Manchester United vs Arsenal clash due to fitness issues. The update will come as a major blow to both teams, who were hoping to field their strongest lineups in this crucial matchup. As the injury crisis deepens, the question on everyone's mind is: who will be available to take the field, and how will the teams adapt to the absence of so many key players?"

Manchester United and Arsenal will each have several players on the side-lines through injury when they meet in the Premier League this weekend.

United go into Sunday afternoon's meeting in 14th spot in the league standings and earned a 3-2 win over Ipswich Town in their previous top-flight fixture. Since then, the Reds have been knocked out of the FA Cup by Fulham and were held to a draw by Real Sociedad in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie.
Ruben Amorim provided an update on his squad on Friday, where he was asked about the fitness of some players. The United head coach was asked if any of the players that were unavailable in midweek would recover in time to face Arsenal.

"I don't think so," Amorim told reporters. "Guys, I will be ready for everything after this season. It's a good thing!

"We need to survive Sunday. The team was so tired in the last 20 minutes [against Sociedad]. We have to prepare Sunday and think about this important game for our season on Thursday. In this moment, I don't know.

"When you are in this kind of club you cannot think like [rotating] with a small squad in this moment. We are trying to see all the players who are fresh and who are not in danger of getting an injury. Even with that we have to risk a little bit but we have to be competitive on Sunday.

"Everybody can start. If they are training tomorrow, if they play today, they can be ready and Chido (Obi) is on the list so he can play."

Manuel Ugarte and Harry Maguire both missed the draw against Sociedad in midweek with injuries, and it appears unlikely that the duo will return to the squad to face Arsenal. Patrick Dorgu is also unavailable as he serves the second match of a three-game ban for his red card against Fulham in the FA Cup.

Lisandro Martinez is ruled out for the remainder of the campaign, with his ACL injury, while Amorim hinted that Amad may be able to return from an ankle injury towards the end of the campaign. United are also without Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, Altay Bayindir, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton.

Arsenal will also be without several key players when they travel to Old Trafford. Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all side-lined with season-ending injuries and are not expected to play any further part in the Gunners' campaign.

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli both remain unavailable with hamstring injuries and they will not be in the Arsenal squad to face United, either
