David Ornstein says Arsenal have done a 'significant amount of work' on striker he says is a 'super talent'

The Gunners have had their fair share of issues this season but they’re now favourites to reach the Champions League semi-finals and are still second in the Premier League table.
However, Arsenal will be eager to go all the way in the Premier League title race next year and also compete on multiple fronts, hence the need for reinforcements.

The Gunners are going to be looking at strikers this summer and Benjamin Sesko is a player they admire, though the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are also in pursuit.

David Ornstein has now shared how likely Arsenal seem to sign Sesko this summer amid interest from the likes of the Red Devils and the Blues.

David Ornstein says Arsenal currently don’t look like Benjamin Sesko’s most probable destination
Ornstein hosted his latest Q&A on The Athletic on Thursday, with fans asking him a variety of questions about the goings-on at clubs in England and elsewhere.

An Arsenal fan asked about the Gunners’ interest in Sesko now Berta’s arrival has led to Viktor Gyokeres going up the wish-list.

Ornstein praised Sesko, calling him a “super talent” and a “gem”, but he speculated that Arsenal is “not looking like his most probable destination at this moment in time”.

This is because Arsenal are reported to have some reservations about Sesko and his readiness to make an immediate impact in the Premier League.

“Arsenal have done a significant amount of work on Sesko over a long period,” began Ornstein.

“He is clearly a super talent who is doing really well and I’m sure he will continue to flourish.

“My colleague James McNicholas detailed recently that Arsenal have some reservations and so perhaps Arteta and Berta are prioritising others (we’ve reported previously about Isak/Gyokeres).

“That doesn’t mean to say Sesko is out of the equation but perhaps Arsenal is not looking like his most probable destination at this moment in time.

“We know Man Utd rate him highly, too… I seem to recall him being their top – or a prominent – target last summer before he decided to stay at Leipzig and sign a new contract.

“He is also among the names Chelsea are considering and I’m sure other top clubs are, too.

“It is not a cheap deal to do but none of these are and if/when Sesko does more it seems whoever wins the race will be getting a gem.”

How Harry Kane may have helped Premier League clubs in Benjamin Sesko pursuit
When it comes to players shining in German football, there’s often the threat of Bayern Munich swooping in and signing them ahead of Premier League suitors.

However, Harry Kane may have just done the Premier League a favour with regards to Sesko deciding on his next destination.

It has been reported that Sesko is against the idea of joining Bayern while Kane is there, as he doesn’t fancy the idea of playing second fiddle to the England star.

If Sesko does move, he wants to be the main man, so Bayern would have to change their one-striker system, or Kane would have to leave in the summer.

Sesko has a £58million release clause in the new contract that he signed last summer, making him cheaper than the likes of Alexander Isak.
