Andy Mitten makes ‘busy’ prediction for Man Utd’s transfer deadline as Carlos Baleba deal hope revived

The mood around Manchester United has shifted from hope to trepidation after the fans were treated to a deja vu display of last season against Fulham.

Manchester United got off to a quick start and had a chance to lead by two or three goals at the break, but they ended up losing the game more often than they won.

Altay Bayindir’s performance refocused attention on the goalkeeping position, which Senne Lammens should be able to address.

However, the team also has other weaknesses. More significantly, Man Utd must put in a lot of effort to move a few players. According to Andy Mitten, Carlos Baleba might make a Hail Mary attempt in a “changed landscape” after a hectic last week.

Man Utd’s transfer deadline analysed

In contrast to the rebuild that was promised prior to the window opening, United is one of the few clubs that have not yet finalized a permanent sale this year.

The only significant assistance comes from Marcus Rashford’s wage savings, and if everything goes according to plan, the payment for that transfer will arrive next summer.

The club is still plagued by the ghost of the four expelled players: Tyrell Malacia, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jadon Sancho.

There are also concerns over Bayindir’s future in the event that Lammens arrives, as well as Rasmus Hojlund’s negotiations with Napoli.

Ideally, United would be able to get rid of those six players and make a bold move to sign a midfield player as well, particularly if Kobbie Mainoo follows through on his choice.

Andy Mitten stated on the United We Stand podcast that he expects a hectic conclusion to the window since it is imperative that they sell at least four of those six, even if they don’t buy anyone.

“I anticipate it to be busy,” he remarked. United must get money in and trade players on. In addition to sell-on fees. Sancho, Garnacho, and Antony must be resolved. According to what I understand, none of these transactions are as sophisticated as they are being described.

“That may change in a couple of days, but United can’t really control the situation. They have a set price and are not prepared to buckle.

“If United are getting money in from sales, then the landscape changes [for Baleba]. Brighton haven’t changed their demands.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if loads of activity went down to the last day. Watch this space.”

Andreas Pereira can hand United a financial boost

The fact that all of United’s windfall this window has come from players who have already been sold says it everything about their ability to sell.

They have about £20 million in sell-on clauses thanks to players like Maxi Oyedele, Alvaro Fernandez, and Anthony Elanga leaving.

Fulham manager Marco Silva has stated that the Brazilian could move on, so Andreas Pereira can put his name on the list.

Brazil is interested in him since he was dropped against Manchester United, and United has a 20% sell-on clause for the player.

United may make a last-ditch attempt to sign Carlos Baleba thanks to the cash increase from Pereira’s sale, wages that are no longer being recorded, and the departure of players like Garnacho and Antony.

Baleba and Manchester United can support one another, and the player’s current results haven’t helped to dispel the rumor that he’s based in Manchester.

In a window that has gone above and beyond expectations, Ineos might have one last Hail Mary in their back pocket.

Over to you, Ruben Amorim.
