Casemiro could leave Man Utd as Real Madrid legend pushes for transfer

A Real Madrid legend is pushing for his club to sign former teammate Casemiro amid reports he could leave Manchester United this summer.

Even though the summer transfer window is only a little more than a week long, it’s evident that many deals are still being negotiated in front of the deadline.

Following three months of moves throughout Europe and overseas, Premier League teams’ transfer market will formally end on September 1 and not reopen until January.

Manchester United, one of the teams rumored to be negotiating multiple transactions, intends to complete a number of acquisitions while finalizing the sales of existing players prior to the window closing.

Casemiro is one of the United players said to be for sale, and a former Real Madrid colleague of the Brazilian is certain that his current squad should make a move.

In August 2022, Casemiro signed a four-year contract with the Premier League team, with the option for an additional year, after leaving Real Madrid for United in a deal costing £60 million + £10 million.

The Brazilian was a vital member of the club in his debut season, but he has since struggled to maintain consistent form, which has led to frequent rumors that he may be leaving Old Trafford.

Furthermore, according to a story published in the Saudi Arabian publication Al-Riyadhiah, Karim Benzema, the 33-year-old’s former teammate, is pressuring Al Ittihad to sign Casemiro this summer.

According to the outlet, Casemiro has been suggested to the team’s sports management by the Al Ittihad captain, who has played 265 games with him.

Casemiro has previously been connected to the Saudi Pro League, with rumors indicating he may join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.

Unless they can find a replacement for the midfield player before the transfer window ends, United is unlikely to be willing to let him leave.

Carlos Baleba of Brighton has been connected to United in recent weeks; according to some rumors, United would even be willing to pay £100 million for his services. However, since Brighton is unwilling to sell, the move now seems to be off.
