Manchester United are now seriously considering a late move for a “wonderful” midfielder, ahead of the September 1st transfer deadline.
Man Utd looking to strengthen midfield amid Mainoo uncertainty
Ruben Amorim recently stated that he is a huge supporter of Kobbie Mainoo, despite the fact that the midfielder has not yet made an appearance in the Premier League this season: “I believe a lot in Kobbie; more than what everyone thinks.” I have a lot of faith in Kobbie. I have high expectations for him. He is fighting with Bruno while playing a single position. Together, they can play.
“You could see that against Fulham that we need to strengthen that position. Like everyone else, I simply have the highest expectations for Kobbie.
On Wednesday night, Mainoo was given the chance to show his worth against Grimsby Town, and the 20-year-old was among the few players who managed to put on a respectable showing.
The young player’s future is now quite uncertain, though, as Leeds United is now expressing the greatest interest in a trade for the central midfielder, who is willing to leave Old Trafford before the deadline of September 1st.
Therefore, a Spanish newspaper claims that INEOS might not be done in the transfer market and that a move for Angelo Stiller of VfB Stuttgart is being given careful consideration.
Depending on what transpires with Bruno Fernandes and Mainoo, the Chiefs are hesitant to sign Stiller since they do not see him as a replacement for Carlos Baleba of Brighton & Hove Albion.
Should one of Amorim’s current midfield options leave, a move for the Stuttgart maestro would gain momentum, and a deal would not break the bank, given that there is a £32m release clause in his contract.
Why Man Utd want to sign “wonderful” Stiller
The 24-year-old may not be as well-known as some of United’s other targets, but considering the caliber of some of the central midfielder’s Bundesliga performances, there are indications that, for under £32 million, he may be a wise addition to Amorim’s team.
The Stuttgart star is “secure” defensively and can play as a lone number six, according to scout Ben Mattinson, who has also praised the German’s “wonderful” left foot and said he is a well-rounded player.
Furthermore, as evidenced by his propensity to play the ball forward and create goals during the past 12 months, the Munich-born maestro is obviously an attack-minded player.

| Assists | 0.21 (90th percentile) |

Stiller could excel at Old Trafford, but Man United should not sell Mainoo to create space in the squad, as the England interantional deserves another chance to prove himself.
