On Sunday, Manchester United and Fulham drew 1-1 in the Premier League at Craven Cottage.
The team that lost 1-0 to Arsenal last weekend only had one alteration made by manager Ruben Amorim.
Diogo Dalot was replaced by Amad Diallo to give the offensive momentum right away.
With three goals in 13 minutes, Matheus Cunha gave the visitors a strong start to the match.
Although the home team gained momentum, the Video Assistant Referee’s (VAR) intervention resulted in a penalty against them.
The home crowd went into raptures when Bruno Fernandes, who is often one of the most dependable from the spot, inexplicably blasted his spot-kick over.
Rodrigo Muniz redirected the ball into his own net, giving United a much-needed breakthrough.
After only one minute and thirty-three seconds on the field, Emile Smith-Rowe tied the score.
Due to their poor play in the latter third, both teams ended up with one point apiece.
Player Ratings
Altay Bayindir – 7/10
Bayindir showed quick alertness to deny Josh King by coming out quickly and spreading his legs. He almost earned an assist, but Cunha failed to capitalise on that opportunity.
Leny Yoro – 8/10
The teenager produced a sensational last-ditch challenge to deny King a one-on-one opportunity. Minutes later, his deflected header gave United the lead.
Matthijs de Ligt – 4/10
Inexcusably left the cross to go past him for Fulham’s leveller. Harry Maguire could now replace him in the next game.
Luke Shaw – 5/10
Shaw lost his composure like the rest of the team when Fulham applied intense pressure.
Patrick Dorgu – 5/10
The Denmark international saw a lot of the ball but failed to create chances for his team.
Amad Diallo – 4/10
An extremely quiet evening for Diallo in his first start of the new campaign. He lacked the urgency and rarely took on defenders.
Casemiro – 5/10
The Brazilian failed to find his teammates with his long passes, unlike the Arsenal game. He picked up a booking for simulation and was subbed off in the 50th minute.
Bruno Fernandes – 3/10
A dreadful penalty miss from the skipper that gave Fulham the confidence to go toe-to-toe with United.
Mason Mount – 6/10
Fantastic turn to nearly bag an early assist for Cunha and contributed with a few flicks. His influence faded after the first 30 minutes.
Bryan Mbeumo – 5/10
A frustrating outing for the new Man United signing as Calvin Bassey got the better of him numerous times.
Matheus Cunha – 7/10
Cunha fired three early shots, with one hitting the woodwork. He got another opportunity from Bayindir’s pass, but Bernd Leno made a fantastic save from point-blank range.
Substitutes
Diogo Dalot – 4/10
The full-back lost the ball in the build-up to Fulham’s equaliser.
Benjamin Sesko – 5/10
The 22-year-old was rusty, showing Amorim is right to not hand him his full debut yet.
Manuel Ugarte – 6/10
Ugarte did his job to win the ball back a few times with the hosts searching for a winner.
Harry Maguire – 6/10
Maguire was not far off to put United ahead as his header landed just wide of the far post from the corner.
Ayden Heaven – 6/10
Heaven came on late for Luke Shaw.
