Manchester United are closing in a deal for a potential Andre Onana replacement
Ruben Amorim benched the 29-year-old goalkeeper for their opening weekend match against Arsenal, and he has been linked to a move away from Old Trafford this summer. Additionally, his time in Manchester’s red half may be coming to an end.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that United and Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens have reached a personal agreement. With nearly 65 appearances in Antwerp, the 23-year-old Lammens has made an impression in Belgium.
He is a Belgian youth international as well. In March, he was called up to the senior squad for two games, but he did not play as a replacement.
According to Romano, Antwerp would want for about £17 million in exchange for his services.
Onana was replaced in goal by Altay Bayindir on Sunday afternoon, and the Gunners won the match thanks to his howler.
Keane and Richards got into a heated argument when the former United captain criticized the goalie during the full-time analysis of the match on Sky Sports.
The goalie should have been more assertive and “punched someone’s head off” to reach the ball, according to Keane, who criticized Bayindir for being wimpy.
The majority of the debate was difficult to follow because both commentators were fighting over each other, but in the end, they both agreed that Bayindir could have performed better. Richards, however, thought his teammates should have provided him with more protection.
Even Onana’s former team, Inter Milan, has offered him a possible way out of Old Trafford.
Before moving from the San Siro to Old Trafford that summer, the Cameroonian goalkeeper had played with the Italian powerhouses and helped them to the 2023 Champions League final.
The report claims that Inter chiefs think Onana would be amenable to rejoining the team. Lammens has also been linked to Christian Chivu, the new manager, who is reportedly looking for a new goalkeeper.
