Man Utd dealt transfer blow as Euro giants ‘submit’ hijack ‘offer’ as ‘nothing done’ with Red Devils

Manchester United is reportedly in danger of losing out on a major transfer target because a European powerhouse has “submitted” a last-minute hijack “offer.”

The Red Devils had a good summer transfer window, spending almost £200 million to add Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko to their attack.

Ruben Amorim’s team still has a lot of work to do in the last week of this transfer window since they need to sell and add at least two more players, even though each player is an improvement over last season’s alternatives.

Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund’s anticipated departures will generate money and increase United’s prospects of acquiring a new goalkeeper and defensive midfielder.

After discovering that Brighton star Carlos Baleba is not available this transfer window, United has moved their focus to finding a new goalkeeper. Their top choice is Senne Lammens, a 23-year-old from Royal Antwerp.

Gianluigi Donnarumma and Emiliano Martinez have also been linked to Manchester United this summer, but Lammens has become their top priority, and Fabrizio Romano disclosed over the weekend that they are nearing an agreement with Royal Antwerp.

“Senne Lammens, left out of Royal Antwerp starting XI today as negotiations with Manchester United are advancing,” Romano wrote on X in response to the team’s decision to exclude Lammens from their starting lineup on Sunday.

“The Belgian goalkeeper has agreed personal terms with Man United… and the two clubs are close to agreeing fee.

“Deal advanced, as revealed on Friday.”

Despite this, journalist Sacha Tavolieri insisted on Monday afternoon that “nothing is done” between Man Utd and Royal Antwerp over Lammens, while a rival ‘offer’ has been ‘submitted’.

“This Sunday, a Galatasaray SK delegation traveled to the #ANTKVM match to meet with the Royal Antwerp FC board,” Tavolieri posted on X. During a meeting, Gala made a fresh offer for Senne Lammens to the Belgian club.

“Remember: Last week, Man United and Man City rekindled their interest in the Belgian and looked into the likelihood of a deal. If Yann Sommer departs, Lammens is another alternative for Inter Milan.

“Despite #MUFC’s faith in that case, nothing has been done. #JPL #RAFC #mercato.

Man Utd legend Gary Neville has claimed that he knows the club’s plan for Lammens as he faces a fight with Andre Onana.

Neville stated on CBS Sports, “I’ve been talking to a few people at United and asking around about that one this morning.”

“The feeling is the new boy coming in would probably be a No. 2 who would start on the bench, but they absolutely do need a No. 1.
