Manchester United spent a lot of money this summer in an attempt to bounce back from their lackluster campaign the previous season, which saw them finish 15th in the Premier League and miss out on qualifying for the Champions League after losing the Europa League final.
To acquire Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Diego Leon, the Red Devils have spent more than £200 million. Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof have been fired, and Marcus Rashford has been loaned to Barcelona with a buyout option.
Before the transfer window closes, there will likely be more arrivals and departures because manager Ruben Amorim is keen to add players to his team in a number of areas while also cutting some benchwarmers.
Bruno Fernandes’ Saudi proposition
Al-Ittihad, a Saudi Pro League team, is attempting to sign Bruno Fernandes after the midfielder turned down an offer to join Al-Hilal earlier this summer, according to the Mirror.
A ‘good’ meeting between the two parties has already taken place, according to a Sun article, and Fernandes is allegedly wanting a contract worth £33 million year. Fernandes acknowledged earlier this summer that if United wanted to sell, he would be willing to leave.
“I have always been honest,” he said. “I’ve always said I will be here until the club says to me that it’s time to go. I’m eager to do more, to be able to bring the club the great days. In the day that the club thinks that I’m too much or it’s time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it.
“But I’ve always said it and I keep my word in the same way. If the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it’s what it is, and football sometimes is like this.”
Bayern Munich target pair
According to Sky Sports Germany, Rasmus Hojlund and Jadon Sancho are targets for Bayern Munich.
After spending the previous season on loan at Chelsea, Sancho is now one of Ruben Amorim’s exiles.
But with Manchester United acquiring Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, Hojlund’s future at Old Trafford is now in doubt.
Senne Lammens update
After Royal Antwerp left Senne Lammens out of their matchday squad for Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Mechelen, it appears that he is getting closer to joining United.
In order to give Andre Onana more competition after a streak of errors since joining United, Ruben Amorim is adamant about bringing Lammens in.
After Antwerp benched him for the match against Mechelen, where Yannick Thoelen made his first start of the season and Taishi Brandon Nozawa, a recent acquisition, was listed as a replacement, the transfer seems certain.
