Manchester United ready to cash in on midfield sensation for the right price

Kobbie Mainoo will be allowed to leave Manchester United for the right price

As we seen last time, the season has begun. There are a lot of expectations and unfulfilled rewards. The wait for victory against Fulham at Craven Cottage was still unfulfilled after the first game against Arsenal ended in a 1-0 loss.

The squad got off to a strong start; early on, Matheus Cunha drew up a risky move, and a shot struck the post. Bruno Fernandes squandered an opportunity to take control of the game by converting a penalty. Then, in the second half, we took the lead when Leny Yoro’s header flew into the net after deflecting off Rodrigo Muniz.

But Fulham quickly answered, as Emile Smith Rowe’s conversion of Alex Iwobi’s cross gave them an equalizer. Ultimately, both teams settled for one point apiece after failing to win in the closing minutes.

Kobbie Mainoo’s story and changing circumstances

The club is now more worried about Kobbie Mainoo’s future as a result of this draw. According to a talkSPORT report, if the proper offer is made, the 20-year-old midfielder may think about leaving the team before the transfer deadline.

Mainoo has not yet received a single minute from Amorim and has been forced to remain on the bench in United’s opening two league games. A captain like Bruno Fernandes, who is crucial to Amorim’s style, will provide Mainoo with fierce competition, according to Amorim.

After graduating from United’s academy, Erik ten Hag gave Mainoo his first opportunity to play for the senior squad in January 2023. The English midfielder has been seen as a major hope for the club’s future ever since. He has scored seven goals in his 72 games for United thus far. His second goal against Manchester City in the FA Cup final, which won the team the cup, was the highlight of the previous season.

Now, though, it appears like Mainoo has changed his mind about signing a new contract, despite the fact that his current one expires in 2027. This season, Chelsea has expressed interest in him and is monitoring Garnacho. For United, things have gotten more tricky for the time being.

Opinion:

Now, the club must decide what to do. The management will find it challenging to decide whether to sell Mainoo if a significant offer is made. We believe that selling a talented player because he was not given a chance in the first two games is wrong.

Although it is reasonable for Amorim to have faith in Bruno Fernandes, it is also true that Fernandes will not play indefinitely, therefore United will need to consider their options. Mainoo should be progressively offered a spot on the team rather than being sold away.

The 20-year-old might get an early playing opportunity if he joins a team like Chelsea, but the pressure and competition would be higher. He has been molded by United; he has found his identity here, and he can only achieve true stardom by remaining here.

We believe that Mainoo and the team would both suffer if he left. Amorim ought to have the guts to allow Bruno and Mainoo to play together on the field right now. United’s future can only be strengthened in this way. This outcome suddenly seems very unexpected because we previously reported in July that Mainoo wanted to remain at the club.
