Manchester United target left out of squad today ahead of possible ‘major transfer’ deal

Man Utd still want to add to their squad before deadline day of the summer transfer window.

In the last days of the summer transfer window, Senne Lammens is training by himself in preparation for a potential move to Manchester United.

Prior to Monday’s deadline, United made the 23-year-old a transfer target. Royal Antwerp is keen to help their star player move, considering the amount of money it would bring in.

Lammens was not included in Royal Antwerp’s squad for their 2-1 victory over Mechelen the previous weekend, and he will not be included in their squad for Saturday’s match against Westerlo. It is acknowledged that the goalie wants to play for his present team, but they don’t want to risk losing a big contract if he gets hurt.

Lammens is also thought to desire a summer transfer to Old Trafford, although Antwerp is willing to sell the goalie to the best bidder and has no preference. Galatasaray may be willing to pay a bigger price than United and has also contacted the Belgian team about a potential deal.

Antwerp manager Stef Wils gave a goalkeeper transfer report to the media on Friday. “Senne is adhering to a personal program after consulting with all stakeholders. That’s a sensible choice. We wish to reduce the possibility of injury because this might be a significant outgoing transfer.

Due to concerns about Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana, Ruben Amorim sought to revamp his goalkeeping staff this summer. Both options have already made high-profile mistakes this season, and neither is thought to be the best fit for his preferred style of play.

Before the deadline, United pulled out of a high-profile approach for Gianluigi Donnarumma, and earlier in the summer, they had their loan bid for Emiliano Martinez turned down. Galatasaray has an additional two weeks because the Turkish transfer market closes later on Friday, September 11, while United has until Monday, September 1st, to finalize a potential deal for Lammens.
