At Craven Cottage, Yoro unintentionally contributed significantly to United’s goal.
The France defender’s glanced header from a corner went off Rodrigo Muniz of Fulham and into the net for an own goal.
After Yoro shoved Calvin Bassey in the area late in the game, the Cottagers felt they should have been awarded a penalty, but referee Chris Kavanagh dismissed their claims.
Yoro has started both of United’s Premier League opening games after manager Ruben Amorim selected him over Harry Maguire.
Even though the center-back was one of his team’s best players yesterday, Amorim’s team was unable to win and now has just one point from their opening two games.
Surprisingly, this means that Yoro hasn’t started a United game where the team has defeated a current Premier League team.
On the most recent episode of “Rio Ferdinand Presents,” Stephen Howson informed Ferdinand of the number, and the United great was shocked by what he was hearing.
His response was, “Wow… wow. That statistic is insane. I simply felt flattened by that, Ste.
“What am I hearing? I’m trying to have a good, positive moment here, trying to get some positivity.
“But that is testament – if I can find a positive angle on this – that is testament to his resilience, you know. You know how difficult it is to play football, not winning, but still putting out performances that are improving week in week out? That’s a big thing that, you know.”
How many games has Yoro won in the Premier League?
Yoro was on United’s winning team four times in the previous campaign.
They featured wins over Fulham and Manchester City, in both of which the 19-year-old entered as a late substitution.
He started United’s 3-1 victory over Southampton, but he had a difficult game against Kamaldeen Sulemana, a winger for the Saints.
He also played 90 minutes in the 3-2 victory over Ipswich for Ruben Amorim’s team.
In both of Yoro’s starts, United defeated teams that would have been easily demoted from the top division.
Yoro will undoubtedly be aiming to eliminate the undesired statistic once and for all when the Red Devils play the recently promoted Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday.
