Robbie Savage says £37m Man Utd player still really doesn’t work in Ruben Amorim’s system

Ruben Amorim’s terrible record at Manchester United has continued after a draw with Fulham at the weekend.

With just one point from the Red Devils’ first two games this season, Manchester United is currently 16th in the standings and the manager of the team is unable to buy a victory.

Amorim is being questioned once more, and Robbie Savage is one man who has consistently voiced concerns about Amorim.

Speaking on 606, Savage, who has previously questioned many of Amorim’s choices, asserted that one Manchester United player isn’t a good fit for this 3-4-3 formation.

Amad Diallo doesn’t suit Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3

Savage discussed Manchester United’s performance under their current boss.

The analyst pointed out that United had lately played well against Arsenal, but he believes that Amad Diallo isn’t suited to this 3-4-3 scheme.

Although Diallo has recently received accolades, Savage isn’t sure that the £37 million player is a good fit for this system.

In the match versus Arsenal, they were superior. I believe it’s because of the speed at the upper end of the pitch. Does the 3-4-3 work for Amad, in my opinion? “Savage said.”

“No, I don’t believe it works for him.

“I don’t believe it does, Ahmad. I want him higher up the pitch since he’s the breadth of a four.

Amad Diallo’s record under Ruben Amorim

Savage claims that Amad Diallo is not a good fit for Amorim’s system, but the statistics show otherwise.

As the data demonstrate, Diallo is still making things happen from that wide right area even though he occasionally looks like he wants to push up more.

Games 29
Goals 8
Assists 8

Even though Manchester United isn’t exactly doing well right now, Amad Diallo has been a bright spot during this time. 16 goal contributions in 29 games is a pretty respectable return for any player.

There is no denying that Amorim’s system has obvious shortcomings, but the problems here go beyond Diallo’s contribution to this side.
