According to The Sun, Al-Ittihad, a Saudi Pro League team, is considering making a surprise approach for Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, before to the transfer deadline.

Earlier this summer, the Portugal international rejected Al-Hilal’s advances. There might be a last-minute surprise, but he was glad to pledge his future to the Red Devils.

According to today’s Sun, negotiations between Fernandes’ team and Al-Ittihad have already taken place.

Positive communication has been established with the player thus far. According to reports, the United captain has requested £33 million annually, including bonuses, in order to move to Al-Ittihad.

Fernandes has previously made it clear that if the club decides to cash in, he would be willing to depart.

United could bolster midfield with Fernandes’ surprise exit

Earlier this year, Fernandes made it apparent that he had no intention of joining Al-Hilal. Since then, the team has added Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha to strengthen the offense.

Fernandes might have to start from number eight going forward since Cunha and Mbeumo are expected to establish themselves as the attacking midfield department’s indisputable starters.

From a deeper midfield position, the Portuguese is less inventive and frequently loses possession. United might have to spend a lot of money on two midfielders if Fernandes were to make a surprise departure before the deadline.

Carlos Baleba’s interest in United has been widely known. According to reports, Brighton & Hove Albion values him at £115 million. For his transfer, the Seagulls might need a sizable amount of the money up front.

United should also try to sign Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace, who might also command a high price, in addition to him. Al-Ittihad could agree to a one-time payment, which would allow the Red Devils to simply secure moves for the two.

Earlier this summer, before Fernandes decided to stay, United was reportedly open to selling him for £100 million. In order to approve his sale in the upcoming days, the hierarchy can need a comparable package.
