Just in: Man Utd star’s loan exit collapses, could now stay at club past deadline – The Athletic

Tyrell Malacia, a star for Manchester United, may have to stay at Old Trafford past the rapidly approaching transfer deadline since his planned loan move to La Liga team Elche has fallen through just hours before the summer window closes, according to The Athletic.

Ruben Amorim, the head coach of the Red Devils, has agreed to a contract with Real Betis worth up to £21.6 million, which has put him within touching distance to selling Antony. However, he is running out of time to get other players who have been judged surplus to needs off the books.

Malacia’s Late Switch to La Liga Falls Through

According to The Athletic, Malacia’s loan departure from Manchester United has fallen through because he and Elche were unable to agree on a clause that would have made the deal permanent at the end of the current campaign. As a result, it is now possible that Malacia will remain at Old Trafford rather than taking on a new challenge.

In the early going of his first full season as Red Devils manager, Portuguese coach Amorim has been keen to get rid of players like the left-back, who is in the last 12 months of his contract, which permits him to earn £75,000 per week.

According to the Athletic report, Malacia, who has been in the bomb squad after learning that his current employers do not have plans for him, has been the subject of club-to-club negotiations between Manchester United and Elche. However, the talks broke down when the parties could not agree on a clause that would allow the La Liga team to purchase him at the end of the current campaign.
