With a last-minute penalty kick from Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United defeated Burnley 3-2 on Saturday to earn their first victory of the year.
However, it was not all sunshine and roses for the Red Devils, as both Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha were injured and did not finish the whole ninety minutes.
Mount was substituted out at halftime with little explanation, while Cunha walked straight down the tunnel after pulling up off the ball with a hamstring problem.
However, there was one encouraging piece of team news: Noussair Mazraoui made a surprise bench appearance after recovering from an injury, even substituting Leny Yoro in the closing minutes to assist seal the victory.

Mason Mount
Mason Mount was withdrawn at half-time as United beat Burnley, and it is not yet clear what his injury was.
He had impressed going forward before being replaced by Kobbie Mainoo.
Speaking at full-time, Ruben Amorim said of his injury: “We will check them (Mount and Cunha). We need those guys really bad to be really competitive.”
He added, though, that Mount played half an hour while injured, and that his substitution was precautionary: “With Mount I was not risking another player.”
Mount has suffered with injury throughout his spell at Old Trafford, and seems set for another spell in the physios’ room.

Matheus Cunha
After receiving treatment for his hamstring injury sustained during the first half of Saturday’s Burnley victory, Matheus Cunha immediately went down the tunnel.
He ran for a lost ball and pulled up on his own, giving the impression that it had been a nasty event.
After the game, Ruben Amorim stated that he was unsure of the player’s injury’s severity and that tests will be conducted the following week: “We will check them (Mount and Cunha).” We really need those guys to be fiercely competitive.

Lisandro Martinez
Due to his recuperation from an ACL injury sustained against Crystal Palace in February, the Argentine is Man United’s only long-term absentee.
Even if he has accelerated his recuperation, it is improbable that he will be ready for selection prior to the fall.
