Ruben Amorim hints at Man United exit date in explosive comments after Leeds draw

Ruben Amorim has cast doubt on his future as Manchester United head coach and hinted he will walk away when his contract expires in 18 months. The 40-year-old demanded to be seen as the manager at Old Trafford, rather than head coach, even though the latter is his official title since being appointed by Ineos in November 2024.

Amorim hinted at issues behind the scenes in his press conference on Friday and escalated his attack on the structure in place after United had actually played well to earn a point in a 1-1 draw at Leeds United.

He was asked why he had seemed so downbeat on Friday and responded with demands for more power, suggesting he was promised that when recruited from Sporting. Amorim said ahead of the game he expected no new signings this month and during his answer at Elland Road he called on director of football Jason Wilcox to do his job.
