According to CaughtOffside, Oliver Glasner, the manager of Crystal Palace, is being considered by Manchester United as a possible replacement for Ruben Amorim.
After losing to Grimsby on penalties in the middle of the week after trailing 2-0 for the most of the match, the Red Devils crashed out of the Carabao Cup in the second round, setting a new low.
Following his suggestion that discussions with the club’s management will take place over the international break, the Portuguese manager prompted rumors about his future. It has now been revealed that INEOS has a shortlist of possible replacements.
Man Utd Eyeing Glasner to Replace Amorim
The ‘amazing’ Glasner, who is currently in command of Crystal Palace, has reached the last 12 months of his Selhurst Park contract, and his long-term future at the club is in doubt.
The Austrian coach is the one most frequently mentioned as a possible replacement in the Old Trafford hallways, and it is believed that he would be thrilled to have the opportunity to join Manchester United. This information was reported by CaughtOffside.
Since replacing Roy Hodgson in 2024, the former Frankfurt manager has been outstanding. Last season, he led the Eagles to an FA Cup trophy victory, their first major trophy ever.
With nearly £220 million invested in the last two transfer windows to help revamp the team, Glasner’s current 3-4-3 style in south London may also ease the transition from manager to manager for the Manchester United team.
Since Amorim took over as manager, Patrick Dorgu, Diego Leon, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko have all joined the team and could all fit right in with Glasner’s lineup without requiring additional funding so quickly.
