Man United sign off on £80m double deal to go through on Friday after INEOS grant Amorim’s requests

Last night, Manchester United finalised agreements to facilitate the exits of both Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

The attacking duo will bid farewell to Old Trafford much sooner than fans had envisioned after giving their green lights to a summer departure.

Alejandro Garnacho sees his wishes met with Chelsea agreement

Garnacho, who has been waiting to join Chelsea since the beginning of the summer, has unsurprisingly finally completed his desired transfer.

The Argentine was so determined to join the Blues that he turned down a bid from Bayern Munich, one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and told United that if they didn’t let him move to Stamford Bridge, he would be content to wait in the reserves for half the season.

The fact that he wanted to join a direct Premier League rival did not, in United’s opinion, deter them; instead, they wanted to make sure they were getting value for their money for a player who, at the age of 21, had made 144 appearances in the first team, contributed 48 goals, and won FA Cup and League Cup.

Chelsea entered the negotiations in hopes of United accepting a lowball offer of just £25 million. Yet, they have agreed to stump up a £40m fee, as well as agreeing a 10 per cent sell-on clause for the Reds.

Rasmus Hojlund to return to Serie A

Hojlund, his striker counterpart, is close to joining Napoli on a season-long loan; if they win the Champions League, the team will then be expected to fulfill a £40 million buyout obligation.

Following Benjamin Sesko’s entrance in M16, Hojlund was urged to start a new business.

The Dane was informed by Ruben Amorim that if he stayed at United, he would be playing a much smaller role, which is the exact reverse of what he has become used to performing over the past year.
