Ineos eyeing mind-boggling move for former United manager to replace Amorim – report

Following a dismal start to the new season, Ruben Amorim is facing mounting pressure at Manchester United.

The Premier League powerhouses have lost to a fourth-tier team in the League Cup for the first time, as the Red Devils have lost their opening three games and were eliminated by Grimsby Town.

Amorim said “something has to change” following his team’s humiliating penalty-based loss.

Man United players question Amorim’s methods

It was revealed on Thursday that the United head coach is under “severe pressure” and that certain members of the United dressing room are questioning his man-management and tactics.

Before United’s match against Burnley, INEOS is still supporting their head coach, who is still in command of the team.

But if he doesn’t put on a strong showing against the recently promoted team this weekend, concerns about his status might grow.

According to a recent story from The People’s Person, United has compiled a list of possible replacements in case they decide to fire Amorim.

Jose Mourinho could return to Manchester United

Fichajes claims that Jose Mourinho is on United’s shortlist of candidates.

The former manager of United has been stripped of his Fenerbahce managerial responsibilities. He could “return” to Old Trafford, according to the Spanish media.

It is believed inside United that the renowned Portuguese coach could “bring character and competitiveness” back into the locker room, which is why Mourinho is “being touted as a direct alternative” to Amorim.

A comeback to the Premier League has been heavily suggested for the 61-year-old. It is quite unlikely that INEOS would rely on him to stabilize the ship in Manchester, though, given his lackluster and turbulent time in Turkey. Therefore, it is advisable to be skeptical of the assertion.

Interestingly, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also back on the manager market after parting ways with Besiktas. Still, there’s nothing to suggest he is currently on United’s radar.
