INEOS close to deal that would earn Man Utd over £37 million with medical set to take place

Manchester United are in the market for late deals and could be set to earn some much needed capital to invest into their squad by sanctioning a key departure, according to reports.

Manchester United look for Ruben Amorim turnaround

Simply put, Ruben Amorim hasn’t had the time at Old Trafford that he would have liked, and his bad luck was made worse by a terrible EFL Cup loss to Grimsby Town in the middle of the week.

Club executives have put pressure on the Red Devils manager after he missed out on penalties, and if things don’t get better, there are rumors that Oliver Glasner, the manager of Crystal Palace, may be considered to take over at Manchester United.

The loss at Blundell Park may be a “breaking point” for Amorim, according to Wayne Rooney, who has been critical of the former Sporting manager and expressed his conviction that he will struggle to improve the team’s performance.

“There is a pressure at Manchester United that he will never have felt before,” he said on his own show. It appears to have been a breaking point for him since losing games can start to get to you.

“Players are becoming a little lost because there is simply too much rotation taking place. There are huge gaps and holes when they lose the ball, which is a carryover from the previous season. Unfortunately, I don’t see how it will progress if it continues in that manner.

A turnaround may depend on transfers, and Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher may be headed to Old Trafford, however any other deals will require sells.

If recent reports are to be believed, they could now be set to hasten that process.

Rasmus Hojlund set for Napoli medical

Il Mattino reports that Rasmus Hojlund, a striker for Manchester United, is scheduled to have a physical at Napoli. If the trade goes through, the Red Devils will receive about £37.2 million.

The deal will become an obligation to buy if the Serie A winners qualify for the Champions League the following season, in which case Amorim’s team will be paid the entire specified sum.

Hojlund has made 95 appearances in all competitions during his tenure at Old Trafford, scoring 26 goals. However, he has been pushed down the hierarchy by Benjamin Sesko’s entrance, and an exit has been virtually confirmed.

If Manchester United can push negotiations past this point, Alejandro Garnacho’s £40 million move to Chelsea will provide them the opportunity to make another high-profile acquisition. However, it is unclear when both deals will actually close.

In any case, Amorim needs assistance to strengthen his team, and the money raised from Hojlund’s departure will help him do so.
