European side “very confident” their star player is joining United in a club record deal – report

Before Monday’s deadline, Manchester United is trying to further bolster their roster.

INEOS has no plans to fire their head coach thus early in the season, despite United’s dismal start to the current campaign and Ruben Amorim’s alarming remarks regarding his players.

Instead, in light of Andre Onana’s awful performance against Grimsby Town, the club’s management is attempting to acquire a replacement goalkeeper.

Senne Lammens destined to join Manchester United

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, United are in talks with Royal Antwerp for the transfer of their highly-rated goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

It is claimed the Belgian outfit are “very confident” of selling Lammens to the Premier League giants.

Writing on X, Tavolieri revealed: “Talks has been accelerating in the last hours and RAFC’s now very confident to get the deal done during the week-end.”

The estimated value of the contract for the 23-year-old’s services is €25 million.

Lammens, who is 6’4″, is thought to be Thibaut Courtois’s heir in Belgium because of his powerful physique and quick reflexes.

Galatasaray has made an attempt to outbid United in recent days, but Lammens has given the “green light” for a move to Old Trafford. According to reports, he will sign a five-year deal.

Senne Lammens out of Royal Antwerp training

The Belgian publication Het Nieuwsblad (via Sport Witness) says that the Antwerp number one is no longer participating in group training, suggesting that his departure is more a matter of when than if.

Additionally, it is believed that he will not be included in the squad for Saturday’s match against Westerlo since Antwerp is expecting a “major outgoing transfer.” The €20 million deal that sent Arthur Vermeeren to Atletico Madrid in 2024 is currently their largest selling.

“Senne is following an individual program, in consultation with all parties,” according to manager Stef Wils. That’s a sensible choice. We wish to reduce the possibility of injury because this might be a significant outgoing transfer.
