Manchester United head into game number four this season against Burnley, still in the hunt for a first win of the campaign.
When Burnley visits Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, Ruben Amorim will be itching to record a victory.
Manchester United has lost all three of its games this season, and the optimism that had been created following their impressive performance against Arsenal has vanished during the previous week.
Despite an outstanding first half-hour, United failed to score in last weekend’s 1-1 tie with Fulham.
When Grimsby defeated United on penalties on Wednesday, the club hit a new low, and there was a lot of conjecture about Amorim and whether he was going to leave the team.
Amorim cleared up his future at United, admitting that sometimes he wants to quit, other times he wants to stay for 20 years, explaining that he lets his emotions take over in the aftermath of results like the defeat to League Two Grimsby.
How Ruben Amorim will line Manchester United up against Fulham
Even though Ineos continues to support Amorim in his efforts to turn United around, the sad truth is that victories are required because the season has started in an unacceptable manner.
All of it starts this weekend when United plays Burnley. Paul Merson predicts that United will crush the Clarets 3-0, which is just the kind of victory Amorim sorely needs.
In light of this, this is how we anticipate Amorim’s United to lineup on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Altay Bayindir
The goalkeeper position at United is now the most contentious, but Altay Bayindir appears to have another opportunity to establish himself as the best after Andre Onana’s disastrous performance in goal against Grimsby.
With Senne Lammens still unsigned, Bayindir has one last chance to claim the position after struggling against Fulham and appearing lost at every set-piece opportunity.
Leny Yoro
Leny Yoro will return to the club for the match against Burnley, but Tyler Fredricson had a reality check in defense against Grimsby.
Yoro is likely Amorim’s first player on the squad sheet at the moment after playing brilliantly against Fulham.
This season, Matthijs de Ligt has been outstanding for United, and his performances have put him well ahead of Harry Maguire in the hierarchy.
De Ligt showed off his attacking abilities against Grimsby, but we anticipate that he will return to his central-centre-back position.
Luke Shaw
Luke Shaw, who completes the back three, has been reliable so far this season and will play left center back as long as he can stay healthy.
Shaw was probably rested for the match against Burnley because he was left out of the Grimsby game.
Amad
Amad’s attacking contribution as a wing-back will be necessary against Burnley to overcome what seems to be a resolute defense, even though the season has started poorly by his own standards.
Tony Mowbray has praised Amad this week, saying he is a brilliant player, but he needs to get himself in gear.
Casemiro
Moving into midfield, Amorim has a major call to make, but we don’t think he will execute the correct move, and instead see Casemiro in the starting line-up.
The Brazilian was rested against Grimsby, and since Casemiro is unquestionably United’s first-choice defensive midfielder, he begins this match.
Bruno Fernandes
Before Amorim had to summon Fernandes because of the catastrophe, he was granted the night off against Grimsby.
Fernandes attempted, but eventually failed, to save United from humiliation after being sent off, and he ultimately appeared irritated with his teammates. This one will be started by Fernandes.
Patrick Dorgu
On the left, Amorim will probably go back to Patrick Dorgu even though he was hooked at halftime against Grimsby. However, given the season’s sluggish start, there’s a chance Diogo Dalot will be selected before him.
Dorgu was expected to have a fantastic season at United, but he hasn’t shown the same level of creativity that he had in the preseason. Against Burnley, that must alter.
Bryan Mbeumo
Bryan Mbeumo scored the Red Devils’ opening goal of the match, which should serve as a spark for success, even though he missed the penalty against Grimsby, which resulted in a loss.
The Cameroon international’s goal was a signature finish, and it was just what we needed to see more of against Burnley.
Matheus Cunha
Despite having a great start to his time at United, Matheus Cunha has yet to score or provide an assist, which will be a burden as the games add up.
We anticipate him playing a key part against Burnley because he is practically undroppable. We would anticipate that he would score one or two goals if he had the same opportunities that he missed against Fulham.
Benjamin Sesko
Due to his lack of inventiveness, Benjamin Sesko received a rough welcome to English football when he started his debut game for United against Grimsby. He still managed to put a couple shots on goal, though, and he intends to do so again and score against Burnley.
We anticipate that Sesko will be able to play this weekend despite suffering a cramp against Grimsby.

What changes we want to see Manchester United make vs Fulham
Amorim will probably line up as seen above, but that isn’t our preferred lineup for United vs. Burnley.
First and foremost, we would want Kobbie Mainoo to play midfield with Fernandes; this is United’s strongest current combination, and defensively, they weren’t much worse off either.
Additionally, United needs a goalkeeper, and since neither Onana nor Bayindir have shown much this season, Amorim need to go at Tom Heaton.
We would likely make these two changes to Amorim’s roster, but after Wednesday night, drastic actions might be implemented.
