Man Utd now close to ‘full agreement’ for fifth summer signing – report

Senne Lammens, the goalkeeper for Royal Antwerp, is close to joining Manchester United, according to CaughtOffside.

For an estimated €20 million (£17 million), the Red Devils are reportedly nearing a final deal to sign the Belgian goalkeeper as their fifth summer acquisition.

United first offered about €17 million for Lammens, but after more discussions, they improved the total deal to almost €20 million. Club negotiations are currently in the “final stretch.”

With the Cameroonian unlikely to leave before Monday’s transfer deadline, Lammens is expected to contend with Andre Onana for a spot in Ruben Amorim’s starting lineup this season.

Onana was dropped for United’s first two games of the Premier League season before returning in goal for their defeat to Grimsby Town on penalties in the EFL Cup second round this week.

Man United Close to Senne Lammens Deal

Even though Inter Milan and Galatasaray are interested in the 23-year-old, United seems fairly certain of acquiring Lammens before the transfer window closes, according to CaughtOffside.

After giving attacking reinforcements first priority this summer, the Old Trafford team is seeking to finalize a trade for the uncapped Belgium international as soon as possible.

Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko were all acquired by United for almost £200 million, while young full-back Diego Leon also joined.

They also considered signing Carlos Baleba, a midfielder for Brighton, but gave up after finding out about the Seagulls’ high demands, which are said to be approximately £120 million.

In the previous season, Lammens, who joined Antwerp from Club Brugge in the summer of 2023, was the main goalkeeper for the Belgian team. In 44 games across all competitions, he gave up 56 goals while keeping 10 clean sheets.

The 23-year-old has already played every minute of the 2025–26 season has given up a goal in each of his first four games in the Belgian top division.

This summer, United also made an attempt to sign Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa, but they were unable to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma of PSG because of his excessive salary demands.
