Antony responds to Fenerbahce after transfer agreement with Man Utd

According to rumors in Brazil, Antony is delaying a move to Fenerbahce after the Turkish team agreed to pay Manchester United’s asking price of €45 million (£38.9 million).

After an outstanding loan stint at Real Betis in the second half of the previous season, United is eager to permanently sell Antony.

The Spanish team has stated that they would like to re-sign the Brazilian winger, but they have cautioned United that they will not overspend.

Manu Fajardo, the director of football at Betis, stated last month that “every day that goes by allows us to dream of him being here.”

‘If Antony is here, it’s because the numbers add up. The most important thing is the club’s sustainability; we can’t do anything crazy.’

ESPN Brazil claims that Fenerbahce has “gone all out” to sign Antony and has told United that they are willing to pay €45 million (£38.9 million) for the 25-year-old.

Antony is reportedly still looking at other options and is not sure about joining Jose Mourinho’s team.

After scoring nine goals in 26 games the previous season, Antony is reportedly interested in returning to Betis.

Manuel Pellegrini, the head coach of Betis, reaffirmed his intention to bring Antony back to the team in a statement this week.

‘I haven’t spoken to Antony. We all know he was very happy during the six-month period he was with us,’ Pellegrini said.

‘We want him back, he certainly wants to come back, but it depends on what the transfer holder, which is Manchester United, wants to do with him.’

Fenerbahce, meanwhile, have agreed to sign West Ham midfielder Edson Alvarez on loan for the remainder of the season.
