Manchester United fans will be delighted to hear the latest transfer update from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano as they may finally be signing a new goalkeeper.
Romano’s article on X claims that Man Utd is moving forward with a possible agreement to sign Senne Lammens, the goalkeeper for Antwerp.
While negotiations are ongoing between the teams, Romano claims the Red Devils and the 23-year-old have nearly reached a personal terms agreement.
Romano’s article attached below suggests that United is eager to make sure they act swiftly to prevent Ligue 1 and Serie A clubs from outbidding them for Lammens’ services.
Romano said: “Understand Manchester United are still working on deal to sign Senne Lammens, talks underway. Personal terms are almost agreed and Man United are in active talks for the Belgian goalkeeper. #MUFC try to anticipate more clubs from France and Italy, also based on exits.”
Senne Lammens transfer looks crucial for Manchester United
Fans of MUFC will be fervently hoping Lammens or someone comparable can sign with them soon because Ruben Amorim is undoubtedly unable to advance this team without Andre Onana.
Onana was a star at his last team, Inter Milan, but he has been a huge letdown at Old Trafford, therefore it’s time for a change.
In the season’s first match against Arsenal, Altay Bayindir filled in for Onana, however the Gunners’ sloppy corner allowed them to win the goal.
Man United need a strong end to the window
Although United has had a respectable transfer window thus far, the team that placed 15th in the Premier League standings last season most likely still needs more.
Although Amorim has a whole new front three in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko, other areas still require improvement.
A new goalkeeper will likely be the top priority for most United supporters, but they could also use a big addition in central midfield.
