Fabrizio Romano: Exit ‘advancing’ for ‘explosive’ Man Utd star after positive talks

According to GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund has had encouraging discussions about joining Napoli, and those conversations are progressing.

In transactions totaling more than £200 million, Ruben Amorim added Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko to the Reds’ forward options during the summer.

As a result, the manager decided to cut ties with Denmark international Hojlund, excluding him from the squad for the match against Arsenal on opening day.

Hojlund Holds ‘Positive Talks’ with Napoli

Hojlund, who has been called “explosive,” came from Atalanta to Old Trafford two summers ago for £64 million with add-ons, raising the total cost to £72 million. However, he had a terrible second season.

A move to Serie A champions Napoli is apparently imminent as the Italian team looks to replace Romelu Lukaku after Amorim decided to pursue other possibilities and let Hojlund move on.

Antonio Conte has made Hojlund a top priority after Lukaku sustained a catastrophic injury that will likely keep him out of action until at least 2026. Romano disclosed on his X account that ‘good negotiations’ have been held with the player and his team regarding a long-term contract.

Manchester United is aware of the negotiations and is prepared to approve a transfer for Hojlund to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, either permanently or on loan with a purchase obligation.

However, it has also been revealed that Bayern Munich has made an offer to sign the 22-year-old on loan this summer as they try to bolster their forwarding depth, so Napoli may need to act fast. The Bundesliga champions are still considering their options and are anticipated to make a choice in the next few days, even if they have not yet made an offer.
