Ruben Amorim has explained why he has to be ‘careful’ with Manchester United new boy Benjamin Sesko after making a huge admission.
Newcastle United put up a strong fight to sign Sesko, but Man United prevailed.
He paid an incredible £73.7 million to come from RB Leipzig.
In last weekend’s Premier League opener against Arsenal, which ended in a 1-0 loss, the Slovenian made his debut for Manchester United.
Having in as a second-half substitution, he was unable to have a significant impact up front.
Amorim, however, is thrilled by the possibility of Sesko and thinks he is “ever better” than initially believed.
“I like to know the players, I like to see the videos of the players and to try to get all the information, but you want that confirmation, and I felt Sesko was even better than what I was thinking,” Amorim stated to Sky Sports.
Amorim clarified why he must be “careful” with the 22-year-old, expressing his belief that Sesko will be Man United’s No. 9 for “many, many years.”
“I have to be careful, Sesko is going to be our striker for many, many years so we need to put that in his head and let him settle down, to stay calm and enjoy his day because he’s really like you said, obsessed,” he said.
“I’m really happy – not just with him but with Cunha, Diego, and Mbeumo – we know that we have the players and we know that in our future we are going to have that base and that is really important for us.”
Gary Neville reveals what he likes the most about Benjamin Sesko
Sesko joins Manchester United after leading Leipzig to 21 goals in 45 games across all competitions the previous season.
If he plays against Fulham on Sunday, he will be hoping to make an impression for his new squad.
Gary Neville discussed his favorite thing about the towering striker ahead of Man United’s second league game of the season.
He stated on Stick to Football, which is presented by Sky Bet, “What I like about him is that when you look at his goals, he does score all different types of goals, to be fair to him.” “He can head it, you know, he’s a 6-foot-5, you know what I mean?”
