Ruben Amorim singles out Man Utd star as example that club have turned the corner

When Casemiro broke into a sprint against Arsenal last week, Ruben Amorim thought his Manchester United players were finally understanding.

Since coming to Old Trafford nine months ago, the United manager has consistently stated that if his strategies are to be successful, his team must be willing to put in the extra effort.

Amorim’s conviction that the team he is assembling is beginning to sing from the same hymn sheet was reinforced when he witnessed Casemiro change from his stooped typical self to the leader of United’s counter-pressing pack as they pursued down Gunners’ captain Martin Odegaard.

Even nevertheless, United fell 1-0. However, there is a renewed sense of hope among both players and supporters. Amorim further stated: “I think you can see it (an improved physicality)” prior to the trip to Craven Cottage to play Fulham.

“It is true. It is visible in the data. Sometimes you react a bit faster when you’re confident. You could see how some of our players responded to the second balls and the duels against Arsenal.

“We are stronger and regaining our positions more quickly. Odegaard possessed the ball at least twice, and on both occasions, I saw our teammates running with all of their might.

“Even Casemiro! He’s also moving at a different speed. Ultimately, we have no influence over the outcome. However, we must see the big picture in the little things we can improve.

We won’t always perform as well as we did in the last game. But the runs in behind, the chances, the energy, and the regularity of the movements. We must be constant in all of these little things.

“If you take a look at our last few games—and I understand that preseason is preseason—and the league’s opening game, we are staying on par.”

In order to get Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko to Manchester, United spent over £200 million this summer. However, Mikel Arteta’s subpar team defeated them despite an impressive showing against Arsenal.

Amorim thinks the extra time he will get on the training field will begin to pay off with Premier League points this season as European football won’t be a distraction. We must work throughout the week and score goals, Amorim stated.

However, I believe you can see that we are more assured when we are playing. The team seems to be playing the game with more freedom. You become more free when you have more time to practice and observe how we play since you won’t have to constantly consider what to do in particular circumstances because you’ll already know what to do.

They are aware of their responsibilities because we have extra time to train and be ready for the games. You have the final two days to get ready for the strategic portion of the game once we have more time to drill on our base. It seems easy to me.
