In terms of hiring, Manchester United has had a busy summer. On Monday, September 1st, they have until the deadline to add more new faces. Prior to it, the Red Devils can also let a few players to leave.
The team of Ruben Amorim has entered the market to acquire players like Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha. They still have the opportunity to add more new members to their ranks. Over the next few weeks and months, the North West team’s revamped attacking unit should pose a challenge to opposing defenses.
Manchester United should snap up Eduardo Camavinga
According to a report by Spanish news outlet Fichajes, United has been connected to a surprise deal for Eduardo Camavinga, a midfielder for Real Madrid. They have long admired Carlos Baleba of Brighton & Hove Albion. But for their fans, Camavinga would be a more intriguing addition.
The 22-year-old Camavinga has a ton of experience playing at the highest level and has many more years to go in the game. With 26 caps to his name, the France international joined his current team in 2021. He progressed through Rennes’ academy before moving to Spain, and he played regularly for the Ligue 1 team at several young levels before making his debut in the senior squad as a teenager.
Since then, he has had a lot of playing time at Real Madrid and has taken home a few awards, including two Champions League titles. The Angolan native has made 180 appearances across all competitions, including 35 during the most recent campaign, and he has four goals to his name. His future is uncertain, though, and if his price tag is met, he might decide to move on.
Why Eduardo Camavinga would be ideal for Manchetser United
Camavinga might be someone United can use to improve the caliber of their midfield. In the middle of the park, he would provide the Red Devils with something new to call upon and suit the bill. He would be a huge improvement over players like Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte if he signed.
Being a winner, he is aware of the requirements to take home prizes. For the past five years at Real Madrid, he has been working in and around a top environment despite his youth. Having someone with that kind of experience and stature at the club would be beneficial to Amorim, and he will also have the proper disposition and character.
He would also benefit from a change of scenery. This transfer window has shown that United, one of the largest clubs in the world, can still draw in elite players. That is demonstrated by Sesko, Mbeumo, and Cunha, all of whom might have easily joined a team competing in Europe.
Nevertheless, they had faith in the initiative and are eager to work with Amorim. Another declaration of purpose and a signal to the rest of the league that they take their business seriously would be sent if they were able to sign Camavinga as well. It’s another matter entirely whether they can lure him out of Spain.
However, he is also likely to cost less than Baleba which could be another key in a potential deal.
