Aston Villa star who sent ‘ridiculous’ Marcus Rashford text backed up

Marcus Rashford has been in sensational form for Barcelona this season and his conduct in training has been praised by one of his teammates after just three months

Barcelona’s goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has been singing the praises of Marcus Rashford, describing him as ‘unstoppable’ during training sessions since his move from Manchester United.

Rashford made the switch to the Spanish champions on a season-long loan last summer, with an option for Barcelona to buy him for £26.2million (€30m). The 28-year-old forward has already netted five goals and provided seven assists in just 13 games under Hansi Flick’s management this season.

Rashford himself has expressed his wish to make his move to Barcelona permanent at the end of the season, a sentiment echoed by Sporting Director Deco, who is pleased with the player’s progress.

Szczęsny is the latest to join the chorus of praise for the England international, offering insight into Rashford’s attitude and performance during training. Speaking to Barcelona’s official YouTube channel, the former Arsenal shot-stopper shared his admiration for the forward.

“He’s an excellent player, I love him a lot,” he said. “Direct in his play, attacks with speed, and he’s contributed to a lot of goals. I think he’s a complete player, and I remember him since he was 18 or 19 in the Premier League. I knew he was special back then.”

He added: “He has fewer goals than he deserves, because in training, when he’s having a good day, you can’t stop him. If he shows that magical right foot more in matches, he’ll be very dangerous.”

Szczęsny’s glowing remarks about Rashford’s performance in training follow further commendation at Aston Villa. After joining during the January transfer window, the forward contributed to 10 goals in 17 matches before an injury limited his playtime.
