Manchester United star Matthijs de Ligt is extremely excited by the club’s summer transfer business.
Manchester United has added four significant players this summer to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s team for the 2025–2026 campaign.
Last weekend, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo made their United debuts and were outstanding against Arsenal. Ruben Amorim will be hoping that both newcomers make an immediate impression.
The same is true for Benjamin Sesko, who only made a brief appearance against the Gunners, lasting 25 minutes.
Matthijs de Ligt’s outstanding performance was one of several excellent aspects of United’s performance against Arsenal.
The Dutch defender is optimistic that things can only improve, particularly with Bryan Mbeumo, the recent addition.
Matthijs de Ligt expects Bryan Mbeumo to improve at Man Utd
Amorim gave Mbeumo high marks for his first performance against Arsenal, and it appears that his teammates have taken to the £65 million acquisition right away.
Center-back De Ligt has also been greatly impressed with United’s new forward, while Kobbie Mainoo called Mbeumo “special.”
Mbeumo is not yet fully fit, so supporters should expect him to improve, De Ligt stated in a recent Manchester United YouTube video.
He’s not even completely fit yet, yet he’s incredibly explosive. Since he didn’t train at Brentford, he had a shorter preseason and is aware that he still needs to put in a lot of effort.
“So I think he has already shown so much quality, but I think when he becomes even more fit, you will see the real potential coming out.
“I can’t wait to see that because it will help us as a team massively.”
Bryan Mbeumo is bonding with new Man United attack
Restructuring United’s offensive possibilities was Amorim’s top goal this summer, and he now has an intriguing new front three in Mbeumo, Cunha, and Sesko.
Amorim can unleash his new-look strike force against Fulham on Sunday afternoon, but the new trio spent a brief time on the field together against Arsenal.
Mbeumo has adapted to United quite well; according to a number of the team’s members, the team environment is at its best ever.
Since none of United’s new forwards have played together, it will take some time to get used to the new players, as is typically the case.
United will only become better as the season goes on as their knowledge and fitness increase, which is an intriguing prospect for Amorim.
